I'm gonna start a thread of my creative grooming if that's alright? All products used are intended for use on dogs, usually Opawz brand. All dogs participating are wildly comfortable with the grooming process. Most big color jobs are spread out over the course of 2-3 appointments a week apart. Attachments:

This is a little color job i did last week, Sadie the Maltese-poodle mix. Her mom always asks for a spot of color and gives me creative freedom so we went classic Lisa-Frank vibes

These are amazing. I'm curious how you get such vibrant colors on dark colored dogs? Is there a bleaching process or does the pigment sit on top of the fur like hair chalk or ?

In Grooming Competition you are not permitted to use lightener. In the steampunk poodle photo we are at a competition , that look was created with coat carving and airbrushing. For his darker coat I used a white base airbrush, then india ink pigment on top. For the metallic elements I tried sooooo many different dog safe options and ended up using a RUSK product for creating metallic glittery looks in hair. (Not featured was a piece of batting on his side where I had glued his own hair back into it and used watch hinges beaded into his coat to make a panel that opens up on his side ) When we do color work not for competition we use a coat lightener made by Opawz, it is a bleaching process. Usually it takes 2 sessions of lightening before we can get color super vibrant on Spike's coat, but i'm happy to say that poodle coat lightens a lot quicker than human hair.

Holy shit. This is more than alright! I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing these. They are freakin' adorable and cool, what the heck. The fawn grooming is so cute I can't handle it hahaha. And the leopard print looks pretty complicated. The steampunk one is also super badass and inspiring, like maybe that's a good idea for a drawing prompt at some point. design a steampunk animal... ahh. yes please post them whenever you do more. it's such a unique art form. (And your icon is the best)

You made an opening panel?? That's amazing.
I used to live close to someone who had a poodle who would often have dyed fur (nowhere near the level of intricacy you do) and I thought it was so beautiful and fun. It's great to get a window into how this kind of work is done so thank you for sharing!

HOly crap Liz, these are incredible!! I LOVE Taco so much, just seeing what you can do with shape and colour is mind blowing. I keep wondering how our morkie would look with a more daring look, and WOW!!! Absolutely stunning.

These are all incredible looks, I didn't even really know this was a thing (I see folks with dyed dogs every now and again but I hadn't the concept that it could get so fanciful), and it's a treat on the eyes!

Thank you! It gets a lot more intense than what I do at competitions. True competition creative grooms take a lot of talent and skill, but honestly I don't personally prefer the way the winning competition dogs look so we stick with overall looks that are a little more pleasing to my aesthetic tastes XD The show Pooch Perfect has a lot of really amazing groomers doing outstanding creative grooms!
