I put "Trade" in quotes because... for this trade, we will draw our own characters! I feel like I never actually draw my own characters anymore. I'm either not motivated or I can't pick who to draw or I just feel like there isn't a point because no one's going to engage with it. Not trying to turn this into a sob story, rather... A success story, wooo. Let's draw our own characters! The "Trade" aspect is... whoever you are assigned to will pick which character of yours that you have to draw. >:D
So sign up as normal, with character list/suggestions. And whoever is assigned to you will pick which of your characters you will draw. I realize this might be weird to organize if a bunch of people signed up. So If a few people sign up, I'll send out assignments like usual. Pick a character from the list of the person you were assigned and either respond to this thread or message them directly with your pick. :>
I hope this makes sense. xD
I guess we can start on the 7th. We are running a consistent week behind seems like haha.

I'll give it a go. Grinn wanted people. Um I need to list my OCs somewhere. Idk where lol.
I'll just put em here:
Io: dnd boi for grinn's campaign. Cleric, Vrell (distantly related to Vrocks), based on a peacock. 19, 5'8", loves gaudy things, *supposed* to take over certain duties, but he has other things in mind. Flirty, loves adventuring, but hates getting dirty.
Mav: more dnd. Changeling/accidental wererat, duskblade/warshaper. Made me realize I was nonbinary. 25, 6', albino, pink eyes, horns, claws, sharp teeth and they choose to look that way because they love it!!! Lives for chaos and also dragons and sewer mermaids and flirting with villains but they DON'T MEAN IT!
Starfruit: just accept all of these r dnd characters I swear I have other OCs somewhere. Elf, Cleric. 16, 4'11". Goal in life is to become a magical girl. Worships Princess Serenity and loves comics. Hangs out with probably the worst influences in the world but that's ok because they're her friends! And taught her how to rollerskate and they have matching switchblades! Scared of ghosts but not vampires because a vampire villain listened to her talk about comics.

Orla: Gnome Paladin, I think. 30s. Keeps a sanctuary for monsters. She's a laidback, gap-toothed cowboy 100% and I break out my southern accent when I roleplay her and I can't stop it.
JR: Half Orc Monk. 16. Buff, pink hair, dark pink skin. Wears a crop top with a bunny on it and shorts, doesn't matter the weather. Loves cute stuff. Murdered by her BFF (he kinda didn’t have a choice) who immediately brought her back to life but that was still traumatizing. He got turned into an insane monster, but she still talked to him.
Ok I think I'm done adding ppl. I have more but I'm still a little sick at the moment.

Cold and unfeeling, was the first to be built and as such doesn't pass for human as easily as Marie. Marie/Marionette: A synthetic human designed to be a combat medic. Was/is the middle child of three sisters. Kind and naive, she looks very much like a living doll. Her beauty can seem uncanny at times. Mimi/Mimic: A synthetic human designed to be a spy. Was/is the youngest of the three sisters. Their creator was killed before she was completed, so she remains unfinished. Has the ability to shapeshift, but her "true" form is completely blank. Has very limited AI. Follows Puppet's orders like a loyal pet. Phoenix: FF14 fan character |D;;; Viera red mage who is a Pirate queen with the title of Queen of Coins. Graceful and elegant, dislikes people. Let me know if the Art Fight links don't work and I'll try to figure something out. |

not sure if I'm doing this right, it's been literal decades since I've used a web forum ahaha... orz But anyway, I was told to draw Marie and so I did! I can try to do a more "traditional" normally proportioned B&W sketch if that's what I was supposed to do, so uhh just let me know Attachments:

I don't think there's a wrong way to do this, no worries! The idea was just to get some art going:D
Anyway, I love this character design ;; I can imagine it being kind of surreal to be wounded and have her come to your rescue. She definitely has that doll-like/uncanny beauty you mention in the description.

yeah, no wrong or right! just draw!just draw whatever feels fun. we're all just trying to convince ourselves to put the pen to paper these days, i think. xD
i also love this. i'm really drawn to the shape of her hair, specifically. the curls feel very heavy yet bouncy and i keep staring at them. and her eyes feel almost haunted, maybe that's part of her uncanny beauty. i find myself wanting to ask more questions about her, which is always a good feeling!

aH, I squeaked in. this month was very busy and chaotic, but vigo thrives in such energy, so I guess it worked out. thanks for requesting him, Grinn! It was good to think about him. This can now go in my stack of WIP's to hopefully not be forgotten forever. xD Attachments:

Aaaaaahhhhh!!! I painted something!! And I had a pretty good time doing it :> Thank you for the suggestion again, DJManatee.
The sketch is my first pass at creating a crew for him. From left to right: Vic, yet unnamed rabbit man, also unnamed mutant lady (I am so bad at names ><) and Longjack who I have decided in this draft is Vic's slightly younger brother. Maybe twin? Anyway, I'm pretty set on the designs except for Bunnyman. Crits or suggestions welcome on any of them though. This is still super early development.
And Ray: Awesome to see Vigo!! And hell yeah for pushing through and making something in spite of having a lot going on. That's hard to do. I really like it at the stage it is now actually. The dark and slightly ambiguous atmosphere really suits him I think. His face looks super dangerous (not to mention the stinger). Remind me to stay out of his way :'D

takahiro looks badass! ah, it's nice to see your painting! i always love how painterly it is. ahaha, that sounds silly... but you know what i mean, right? xD and damn, i love the posse. i feel as if i slightly recognize the person with the eyeball arm. well, not exactly, but is that a version of your one nameless character you had drawn a few times? i love the rabbit guy, personally. i really like what looks to be a mouth shaped necklace? with teeth and tongue. and his one half ear, and impressive girth. he's just cool. u_u they look like a formidable and fun bunch, haha. i love vic's sword charms.  |

 Aight almost late but here's Orla, The cowboy gnome. She owns a monster preservation with a friend, and has gotten a tooth or two knocked out trying to keep it all up. She might only be 3 foot something, but Orla's personality is big enough to fill a room. Thanks ray for requesting Orla :3 felt nice drawing her again for the first time in uuuuuuhhhh awhile. |

Ahaha thank you Ray! Yes that is the unnamed mutant hal I've drawn a few times before and im glad you like Bunnyman :3

ahhh , i love orla! as i suspected i might after reading her description, haha. i love her expressions and freckles and grass-in-mouth. her story/background sounds pretty interesting, too. :>
