Pet/Animal trade!! I'm going to leave this sign up posted for a while, at least a week I guess? Not totally sure how much interest everyone has in doing another trade right away after the last one. So I figure I can just leave this up a while and see.
Yeah! Throwing in the idea of costumes or colors/design elements!
Sign up with some photos of your pet(s) (or an any animal)! Feel free to Suggest additional theme/costume ideas, describe their personality, age, any additional info you wanna include. I kinda assumed the animals would be in their real forms, for the most part, but I figure if someone wants to see an anthro version of their pet that's also cool and you can just say you're open to that in your sign up!
I feel like the level of completion here can be anything from linework to black and white illustration to a full color illustration. Whatever we have time for. Feel free to discuss if you guys have additional ideas for this trade.

Ok so Benvolio! How to describe him.
-Young (but not a kitten) -Extremely active. Always wants to play and/or explore
-A good hunter. If he likes you he will bring you "presents" and since he isn't allowed to go outside that usually means half dead bugs ._.
-Postures himself like a big tough guy but whenever he picks a fight with the other cat that lives here he ends up running away -Not especially snuggly but affectionate in his own way. He will bump his head against people he likes kind of like a high five.
-Very social. He follows me around most of the day and hangs out in whatever room I'm in. He's banned from my bedroom at night because of the half dead bugs thing and every morning when he gets tired of waiting for me to wake up he starts pawing at the door. -Ate an entire spider plant down to the roots once when nobody was looking >< (he was fine. Apparently spider plants have a mildly hallucinogenic effect on cats)
Anyway, have fun with it! I'm open to any kind of interpretation really.

I have three dogs, and I'd love to see any of them!!! Rain! -Rain is old, but I'll post photos of her throughout her life and I'd love seeing her at any age including old lady. -Pug/Beagle mix! small size, thicker build. -obsessed with tennis balls. -a real explorer. widely traveled. -very friendly but a little aloof. focused on sniffing out her environment. -not submissive, but she's isn't domineering at all either. linklinklinklinkTaro-mystery mix. But she's probably part border collie and part hound. small size, lanky build. -Short hair, floppy ears, black and white coloration, brown eyes. -very gentle -submissive and very kind and accommodating. -fast as bolt when she's running free. she loves to run. -very affectionate and loves to be reassured with affection from people. linklinklink
Cassidy-a special runt. -Same litter as Taro, smaller size. -honey-brown color with gold eyes, a long nose, and floppy ears. -Her legs are short and her head is big, she's developed uniquely. -She can't do everything that other dogs can do: she can't jump, she is easily knocked over and has some trouble getting back up, though she can do it herself. -dominant and confident personality, she's got a lot of ruff in her and loves to romp and fight. She's often biting her sister to start rough play. All of this despite her limitations, she doesn't let herself be slowed down or intimidated. -very vocal, howls along with musical instruments. linklinklinklinkalso open to any interpretation! anthro, realism, costumes, anything!! fun time |

Aaah oh wow ;; this is great! I had forgotten about this thread so this was a pleasant surprise. Actually, I woke up in the middle of the night and saw this and deadass thought I dreamed it xD He looks great in his little hood. I love the texture of the fabric. Man you really went all out on this one with the rendering. It's beautiful. I like the way you anthropomorphized him too. Lots of animal with just enough human to make walking upright make sense. Love the little mischievous expression and the reference to his spider plant affinity xD. The real Benvolio is watching me type this out of the corner of his eye from the top of his tower so I think he gives his approval in his own way. Thank you so much!
I've also been thinking about anthros a lot lately so I'm excited to work on my end.

oh my GOOOOOD, yes, holy shit! this is amazing. it's brought a little tear to my eye, hah! it's very fitting that they would be busking, since they have helped a lot with it just by sitting around being cute while I play music, haha. the instruments you chose for them are perfect for their personalities, too. cassidy would definitely be a loud and commanding presence like the drum and taro's more pensive nature is perfectly suited to the flute. and their costumes, holy shit, wow. the details are amazing. AND the way you decided to depict them as far as the level of anthroism. Ah I don't even know what words to use for that, level of anthroism... I mean like, the style I guess? It's along the same same line of what I'm going for as well. They still look very animal-ish, yet obviously have the human characteristics required to play music and wear costumes, etc etc. anyway. wow. This is a masterpiece in my book, holy crap. a truly stunning illustration. I feel so very honored and happy! I'll just keep looking at it now, taking in all of the details. I imagine ember is running through the woods somewhere in the background, heh! omg taro is such an angel, heeee

:') I'm glad you like it. I tried to follow your descriptions carefully but I made some creative guesses so I'm glad you feel like I did them justice. They're such sweeties. It was a really fun project, very much fueled by Celtic and Medieval music.
Yes!! Ember and Blinky are definitely crashing around in the woods behind them. I love that idea xD

Oh yes, and I had this little wisp of a story in mind as I was working on it. The hat they're using for tips is really old and was given to them by their bardic mentor before they set out on their own and it's lucky/protective in some way. I dunno xD
